Introduction

Descom Consultant Pty Ltd (“Descom Consultant Building & Pest”, ‘’Descom’’, “Us”, “Our”, “We”) take the rights and privacy of all Customers (individuals and/or business) (“You”, “Your”, “Yourself”, “They”, “Their”) very seriously and prioritise its security and protection. In order to provide the highest quality of service we do require the collection of information to ensure our interactions with all parties is effective and timely.

This Privacy Policy outlines our interactions with information, data, third parties and retention in accordance with the Privacy Act and the 13 Australian Privacy Principles.

Consent

By interacting with us, through services provided, digital systems (e.g. website), telecommunication or in person, in relation to all services provided by Descom Consultant, you are agreeing to this Privacy Policy.

If you provide information on behalf of another person and/or business, please ensure they are aware of the information shared on their behalf.

Data Collected

In order to effectively provide services, we require the collection of various types of information. If you do not provide sufficient information needed for your desired service, we may be unable to provide you with the desired service experience.

We have installed a Microsoft Clarity cookie on every page of our site. Clarity captures the interactions on our website such as how the page has rendered and what interactions users undertake such as mouse movements, clicks, scrolls, etc. By default, any sensitive content such as passwords, usernames, etc. are masked before sending to Clarity. Clarity is GDPR complaint as a data controller.

We will disclose collected information where required to do so by law enforcement or court order.

Our communications will be via various means, such as email, in accordance with applicable laws.

Communication

Service-related updates with active customers are required to ensure optimal service experience. Our service offerings may be indirectly influenced by other stakeholders, for this reason it is necessary to ensure our customers are aware of options and changes which affect their engagement with us.

We will contact active customers frequently to ensure the service engagement is effective and maintained. This will include notifications of timing and changes as applicable.

Changes to Policy

We may make changes to this Privacy Policy at any time to ensure continued compliance with applicable Acts and regulations and ensure currency with our service offerings.

Data Security

We will take all reasonable steps available and known to us to ensure the ongoing security of collected information. Data will be stored for a period of time we consider necessary for the primary purpose it was collected and the ongoing improvements of that and associated services.

Data may be combined and aggregated to assist us in optimisation of business process and service-related opportunities. Combined and aggregated data is disconnected from user sources removing risk of data breaches.

While we will continuously protect our systems and data, we are not in a position to guarantee complete data security where circumstances beyond our control arise.

Descom Consultant respects your right to access the data provided to us. Where written requests for information retained are received (to info@desconconsultant.com.au), we will acknowledge the request within seven (7) days and provide you with access to the information retained within thirty (30) days of acknowledgement.

You may request us to correct any aspect of your collected information by contacting us by email to info@desconconsultant.com.au. Where we agree with the request, the change will take effect as soon as practically possible. If we do not agree with your request, you will be notified with the reason for rejection.

Complaints

If you are not satisfied with retention of information collected which is associated with yourself and/or your business, you can contact us by email to info@desconconsultant.com.au. We will respond to all complaints within 7 days and allocate a case manager who will work with you to resolve the issue raised.

Where you remain unsatisfied, you may choose to complain to the Office of Australian Information Commissioner (https://www.oaic.gov.au/).
